In Bed With the Devil
What I most enjoyed about this book was how unexpected I found the setup. Devilish dukes are ubiquitous in historical romance, but this particular one has an unusual backstory. He was once part of a gang of London street children, and committed a murder at a young age. Even more surprising, the heroine first approaches him because she wants to hire him to kill someone. I had never seen a setup like this before, and I was compelled to read on to understand how all of this had come about. I definitely enjoy a good dose of mystery along with my romance, and this book offers that, as the truth about the hero's past gradually comes to light.
