I'm blogging today at the Science Fiction Romance Brigade about what it feels like to attend RWA as an author with a first sale.

Nationals is an amazing environment when it comes to peer support. A couple thousand women (and a few hardy men) who truly get it. The hopes, the heartbreak, the joy in every tiny step forward…these people KNOW. And they are free with their enthusiasm and warm wishes.

Great news: My sci-fi/paranormal blend Echo 8 has been named a finalist for RWA's 2011 Golden Heart award! With the recent sale of my two-time finalist manuscript Ghost Planet to Tor/Macmillan, this is my last year of eligibility for the Golden Heart competition.
